A wireless FM modulator allows you to create your very own radio station. No longer will you be stuck listening to commercial radio on your morning drive or on long car trips. Wireless FM modulators are perfect companions to an mp3 player. The best thing about them however, is that you can also use them at home to broadcast music throughout the entire house.

A stereo fm modulator converts audio from a CD player, mp3 player, TV, DVD player, or smartphone to RF signals. These signals are then picked up by an FM receiver and played on the radio. The modulator and radio must be tuned to the same frequency for the music to be heard. Static filled or unused stations work the best because you don't have to compete with large radio stations.

With a wireless FM modulator you can have music playing from a computer, like Pandora or iTunes, and broadcast it throughout the entire home. If you have a pool or a nice yard, you can still listen to same music with a simple FM radio. This can create a simple and easy party in no time at all. Everyone can listen to the same music no matter where they are.

Can any FM modulator give you the same quality audio and added benefits? Not necessarily. Most FM modulators only transmit a few feet, which makes their performance sub-par in your home and automobile. And many have difficulty overcoming even the weakest static signals, often making your music quality terrible.

The best FM modulator can easily broadcast audio for up to 150 feet. This will give you the clear, static free audio that you're looking for. With this transmission power you can broadcast music throughout the house, to the backyard or to the pool area. It's very easy to create a quick party with a wireless FM modulator.

Besides audio quality and transmission strength, another quality of the best FM modulator is the ability to be universally transmitted from any audio source. This way no matter what source you use, be it computer, MP3 player, or iPod, you can enjoy your music and not have to worry about which modulator to use in order to play it.

Wired MP3 FM Modulator - A Better Choice Exists

| Tuesday, July 26, 2011
By James M. Boersma

A wired MP3 FM modulator is a popular way of using MP3 players in a car. The problem is that wired modulators are stuck in your car at all times because of their wiring. This is not very smart considering that modulators can be very useful in other situations beyond the car.

Wired MP3 FM modulators are generally hardwired into the dash of your vehicle. This makes them a stationary technology that cannot be used in other locations. Another option is a wireless FM modulator (i.e FM transmitter), which can provide the same quality and allow you to transport it from vehicle to vehicle. Quality FM transmitters (more details to come) can also be used at home, the office, on camping trips and many other locations. The following are examples of how convenient an FM transmitter can be:

1. Let's suppose that you want to watch your favorite television program, but the people you live with are trying to sleep or working on something, forcing you to keep the volume down. Rather than struggling to hear what is being said, consider the FM transmitter which can be utilized to broadcast the sound from the TV to a nearby radio, which would keep the room's overall noise at a moderate level. Or you could choose to eliminate all sound with the purchase of wireless FM headphones.

2. Listening to the same music in multiple rooms can make housework much more enjoyable. The problem for most people is that they do not have a complex speaker system capable of playing music throughout the entire house. Enter in a wireless MP3 FM modulator and a few FM radios and you can now broadcast any audio throughout your home.

3. The same could be said for an outdoor pool party or barbeque. Rather than blasting the music at obnoxiously high levels over your speaker's audio, you can play it at a moderate level on radios throughout the backyard with the help of an FM transmitter.

When I describe these applications, I'm only referring to quality FM transmitters. Cheap, worthless transmitters don't have anywhere near the transmission strength to broadcast audio throughout your home. Most FM transmitters can only transmit a few feet, so it's important to purchase the right one. The best FM transmitters can transmit well over a hundred feet. Because of the transmission strength, the sound quality is just as good as a wired MP3 FM modulator.

A wired MP3 FM modulator, since it's hardwired into your dash, obviously can't be used in any other place than the car; this severely limits the ways in which you can use it. Quality modulators and transmitters are very similar in audio quality and price. The main difference is versatility. You just need to decide if you want to buy something with one use, or one with several. Pretty simple choice if you ask me.

Understanding The Important Role Of Radio Broadcasting In Our Modern World

|
By Gian Arizmendi

With the advancements in communication technology, people now have access to various events happening around the globe through televisions and the internet. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that radio broadcasting-through radio sets-still plays an important role in the dissemination of information--as well as in providing entertainment-to the public.

Radio broadcasting is technically defined as a one-way transmission over radio-waves intended to reach a wide audience. It is done by linking radio networks to broadcast common programming via cable FM, local wire networks, satellite, and the Web. The history of radio broadcasting dates back to 1899 when wireless communication was setup between France and England by Guglielmo Marconi.

In 1906 it was claimed that Reginald Aubrey Fessenden, a naturalized American citizen born in Canada, performed the first radio transmissions of voice and music which occurred on Christmas Eve during said year. Since then, various experiments on radio communication have been done-from devices that allow only two parties to communicate to more advance projects allowing signal to be transmitted to larger audiences.

In August 1920, the first ever news bulletin was broadcasted to public from Station 8MK in Detroit, Michigan. By 1922, radio broadcasts were used to send out entertainment over the airwaves from Marconi, Institute at Wrisstle. By 1930 until the late 1940s, radio broadcasting experienced its "golden age" until the advent of the television. During the 80s, the use of radio sets to listen to radio broadcasts has decreased with the increasing popularity of the television. Nevertheless, by the 90s, with FM broadcasts formatted to provide music, news, weather, and sports broadcast, FM stations began dominating the market again.

Radio sets, then and up till now - despite wide access to the internet and other means - is still considered indispensible part radio broadcasting. Radios can be of great company, whatever time is it and wherever you are. At home, in the car, in shopping malls, and even in parks, one can still listen to radios.

Though television has taken over much of the entertainment, news, and sports event duties, there are still a number of aspects where radios are more necessary. Local radio stations, for example, are vital for communities keeping members of the covered group up to date with local news and other upcoming events local to the community. Also, people wanting to have their voices and opinions heard often opt for radio phone-ins. More importantly, especially for travellers who just can't make it to a television, radio broadcasting is still the next best thing.

Today, broadcasting can be of any type. Depending on whom the target market of the radio station is, radio broadcasting contents. Radio broadcasting can either be a National Radio, Regional Radio station, a Local Radio, or a Community radio. These types of radio broadcasts cover or serve a specific amount of area. National, for example, covers radio broadcast nationwide while local radios provide broadcasts similar to information found on local newspapers. Other types of radio broadcasts are internet, cable and satellite stations, hospital, student or university campus radio, and/or pirate radio stations.

Radio sets are still considered important parts of our everyday lives, especially with the still thriving support of different communities for radio broadcast. Radio sets, through radio broadcasting contribute to the propagation of information as well as providing entertainment.

By Ruth F. Teague

The physical symptoms of a panic attack can be very uncomfortable and oftentimes awful. The feelings you experience can be extremely disturbing and affect your day negatively even though the symptoms may not really physically injure you. Each person experiences panic attacks differently but most report a loss of control and feeling short of breath.

So what can you do to handle panic attacks and keep them from recurring? For starters, it helps to realize the you're not the only one who experiences anxiety attacks. It is also the case that some people may experience this as a one off event or for a short period of time whereas for others it becomes a longer term issue.

The first step in tackling this is to try to understand what may be triggering your panic attacks. There may be specific events in your life that have resulted in your lifestyle changing and triggered emotions that have an effect at a deeper level. For example, losing a loved one or breaking up with a significant other are major events which we may appear to manage well. However, suppressed feelings have a habit of finding their way out. Tips For Scuba Diving - What You Need To Know To Have Fun And Be Safe

| Wednesday, July 20, 2011
By Jeff A. Gamble

The worldwide phenomena known as scuba diving has been entertaining millions of people for decades. Many people enjoy this sport for decades, usually because it is easy to learn and can be done in many waters. Local dive shops with certified instructors are very popular in the coastal regions and usually have classes open to the public. There is a huge difference between going in the water to learn and reading a magazine article on the subject. The rest of your education will come with experience and talking to dive masters and other divers. Dive master certification is definitely a way to go, especially if you love scuba diving and would like to teach others how to do the same. The following will present tips and suggestions that you should consider, specially if you plan on spending a lot of time diving during the summer.

One issue that novice divers have is choosing the right amount of diving weights to use when they first start out scuba diving. These divers will know that they have added too much weight once they get into the water and began to sink far faster than they imagined that they would. To compensate for those that are not able to choose the proper amount of weight, a device called a buoyancy compensator was made. But it is inefficient diving and really not something to be encouraged for a lot of reasons. When you are over-weighted, then you will have to make more use of the BC when your depth changes. For instance, your wetsuit, if you are wearing it, will actually become less buoyant the deeper that you dive. Once this occurs, you will not be able to enjoy your dive and may have to resurface to fix the dilemma.

There are a lot of little tricks and tips that often times are learned with experience or from others who have more dives under their belt. To make sure that you always have the safest possible experience, keep your diving gear up to par at all times. Some divers actually have difficulty discerning whether or not they are heavy enough for the dive that they're going to go on. If you find that you are moving an excessive amount, causing you to become tired and to breathe excess air, you may want to modify this situation. All of this will lead to you using too much air far too quickly. Extra special attention should be given to your BC or buoyancy compensator to make sure it does not have air inside.

You also need to be concerned about the amount of weight that you place on your belt. When diving, 1 to 2 pounds of extra weight will probably do the trick. After a few times, using the tips listed above, your buoyancy level should be spot on.

To have a safe and fun experience, there are things that you should know about night diving. Night dives are very seldom deep dives, is nice to know, if you have never been night diving. Once the sun has gone down, remember to only go on shallow dives. The opinion of most night divers with years of experience, was that diving thirty to forty feet was the recommended depth. For some, sixty feet was the deepest that they would recommend. Underwater can be a dangerous place, so you will want to observe all of the safety precautions for scuba diving. Obviously, the regulations are there for a reason. For some reason, there are divers who will cut corners, even with the danger involved. Never cut any corners and take unnecessary risks because a situation can deteriorate very quickly and produce deadly results.

How To Fix A Phone With Water Damage Effectively

| Sunday, July 17, 2011
By Mary S. Waugh

Electronics are a big part of everyone's life now, so it is no surprise when little accidents happen and we are faced with learning how to fix a phone with water damage. The accident may happen when you are about to use the toilet and the device slips out of your pocket and falls in the urinal. It might happen when you are fumbling in your handbag and the cellular falls in your drink, one never knows.

Liquids that come in contact with electronic devices can spell disaster to some people. But if you act quickly enough, you can prevent damage before it even happens. Once the liquid has penetrated the device, the first thing one should do is dry off the external parts of the unit and take the device apart to dry off the internal parts as best they can.

The easiest thing to get to is the battery, so remove the battery and your sim card immediately and start drying off the battery compartment of the cell. Take the device apart and fill a container up with alcohol and soak the cellular device in it (not the battery and the sim) so that the alcohol displaces any other liquid. The alcohol will remove liquids that can be corrosive to the phone parts.

There are situations when a person will drop their unit in coffee or juice, which is very sticky and thick. To prevent stickiness in the unit, it is best to soak the device in distilled water for a few minutes to get rid of the stickiness. Once this is gone, then the unit can be soaked in alcohol to displace the water and prevent corrosion.

Once the soaking is completed, the device should be placed in a dry area, preferably in a place with dry air and air conditioning, and dried upon a highly absorbent cloth. Earbuds can also be used to speed up the process to dry up external and reachable parts. Complete drying should take a little more than two hours. Shaking the unit will also assure you that all the liquids are dislodged.

Using a hair dryer at its cool setting will help you dry your cellular device faster. It is best to use a cool setting so that plastic parts inside the unit do not melt. Once you are sure the entire unit is dry, reinstall the battery and sim card and test the unit.

This method on how to fix a phone with water damage has been a tried and tested procedure that often gets positive results. However, if the phone does not turn on, you may need to bring to back to the place you brought it to get it looked at by a professional.

Satellite Radio: Is It Expensive?

| Monday, July 4, 2011
By Owen Jones

Satellite radio is highly popular these days and it is increasing in popularity more and more every day. If you are not sure what satellite radio is, you can look at it like cable or satellite TV. In essence, satellite radio is a subscription only service. It has a huge assortment of radio stations that are not available on the ordinary AM or FM services.

If you are wondering about how much satellite radio costs, then the answer is the maddening one: it depends. It depends, because there are several variables, such as the apparatus itself, installation fees and monthly fees. Equipment from the countless manufacturers varies a lot as well.

For instance, Bose is more expensive than a Chinese item from Walmart. Installation charges vary depending on where you live and who you use and the monthly fee will depend on which package or bundle you select. So, regrettably, the answer is: it depends.

There is also a one-off 'activation fee'. This costs about $15 if you do it by phone and about $5 if you it over the Internet. However, the push is on to get you signed up, so there are frequently promotions on doing away with this outrageous rip-off fee. As if you will not be paying enough in monthly charges for the rest of your life!

If you want to install satellite radio in your car, you have two options, if your present radio is not 'satellite ready'. You can either buy a new car stereo that is 'satellite ready' or you can purchase a satellite signal receiver and decoder unit and plug it into your present radio. This decoder can be hidden away under the driver's seat or stashed in the boot of the car. You will also need a new antenna on the roof.

Costs vary wildly, but let's average it out at $600 for a good, new, satellite-enabled, ready to go stereo fitted and working or $350 for a cheap system using your own radio, but also ready to receive satellite broadcasts. So, you could say, on average, for around $500 you can be listening to satellite broadcasts.

However, just as with laptop computer prices, demand causes downward pressure on prices and by the time you read this article, the price could have halved. Let's hope so.

Portable satellite radio receivers can be a bit cheaper, mostly because there are no installation charges and come out at around $400.

Then there are the monthly subscription fees. As I said above, this depends on the package you select. The average charge is $10-$15 a month, but specific channels can be extra. For example, you could get the Playboy channel for free at one time, but the normal charge is $2.95 per month.

Sport may cost more, especially for a finals match. Sometimes, you can get a discount for paying annually and Sirius even has a one-off, lifetime option at $500. Perhaps the best thing to do is keep an eye on the promotional deals and be ready to pounce quickly when a suitable one comes up.
